There’s been some interest in reading about my lunatic schedule, so I decided why not? Here it is, in all its frightening glory: My Planner.
Regular Weekday Schedule: (during terms)
3:15 a.m. Wake up. Make coffee. Make kids’ lunches.
3:45-5:30 a.m. Write/Blog/journal. Grade papers if they must get done.
5:30-6:30 a.m. Write / Run or cross train. (alternating)
6:30-7:20 Get showered and dressed & etc.; get girls up and dressed for school
7:20 a.m. – drop youngest daughter off at daycare; commute to work
8:00-3:15 p.m. Teach 6, 50-minute classes. Multitask like a lunatic – check and answer emails, moderate blog, research, grade assignments, update online gradebook, take attendance, write recommendations & etc. between classes, during lunch and whenever the students are doing seatwork or paired assignments or taking tests. With a hot WIP, I write during lunch and sometimes during my planning period.
4:00 – 5:30 p.m. – Write. Sometimes, I switch this with the running in the morning. Or errands-running, when totally unavoidable.
5:30 p.m. – pick girls up from daycare/after school program.
And then, the evenings begin. Those aren’t so regulated, so I shan’t include them here.
And here’s how the months are panning out on top of that as of right now. I’ll update as I add to my calendar, and try to remember to use different colors so you can see how things progress.
